What the consultation fee doesn’t cover

We’d rather you know this now than find out after your appointment.

Read the full fees policy

Medicare rebates
Consultations with our partner practitioners do not attract a Medicare rebate and cannot be bulk-billed. You’re responsible for the full consultation fee.
Medication
If your clinician prescribes something, it is dispensed as a private prescription and is not listed on the PBS. Costs appear in your patient portal before you pay, or you can take the script to any pharmacy at their pricing.
Pathology and imaging
If tests are needed, they’re arranged through an external provider and billed separately by them.
Private health insurance
Some funds offer benefits. If yours does, submit your paid invoice to them directly — we can’t claim on your behalf.

What happens if you can’t make it

Life happens. Give us 24 hours and there’s no cost to you at all.

  • 24+ hours before

    No charge

Cancel and receive a full refund, or reschedule at no cost.

  • Under 24 hours

    50% of fee

Half the consultation fee is retained.

  • No show

    Full fee

If you don’t attend and don’t let us know, the full fee applies.

  • If we can’t proceed

    Full refund

Practitioner unavailable or the consult is disrupted? Full refund, or a rebooking within 24 hours at no cost.

Refunds are processed within 3 business days to your original payment method; your bank may take a few days longer to show it. Completed consultations aren’t refundable — including where your clinician determines that medication isn’t the right course, or that you aren’t eligible for treatment.

  • Paid at booking

The consultation fee is charged upfront when you book, on behalf of your partner practitioner.

  • Card stored securely

Card details are held in Halaxy. If you’d rather not store a card, you can arrange manual payment instead.

  • Failed payments

If a payment doesn’t go through, we’ll let you know and ask before retrying. Nothing is charged twice.

Pricing questions

Answers before you commit

  • Why isn’t there a Medicare rebate?

Medicare rebates are generally not available for the type of telehealth consultation we provide, and our consultations cannot be bulk-billed. If you’re unsure how this applies to you, book a free discovery call and our team will walk you through it before you pay anything.

  • How much will my medication cost?

It depends on what, if anything, your clinician prescribes. Anything prescribed is dispensed as a private prescription and is not listed on the PBS, so the cost is separate from your consultation fee. Prices appear in the Azure Patient Portal before you pay, and you can take your prescription to any pharmacy instead, at that pharmacy’s own pricing.

  • How often will I need a follow-up?

There is no set schedule. A follow-up is booked when your clinician recommends one — to review how things are tracking, or to adjust your care plan — and one is required to continue certain prescriptions. Your clinician will tell you what they expect at the end of your consultation.

  • Is there a membership or subscription?

No. There is no membership, no subscription and no lock-in. You pay per appointment, at the time you book it, and the discovery call costs nothing.

  • Can I get a refund if I’m not eligible for treatment?

The consultation fee pays for your clinician’s time and assessment, so it isn’t refundable once the consultation has taken place — including where your clinician determines that medication isn’t the right course, or that you aren’t eligible for treatment. If you’d like to check whether Azure Health is a fit before paying anything, start with the free discovery call.

  • Do you charge for the patient portal or support?

No. Access to the Azure Patient Portal comes with your consultation, and our support team costs nothing to talk to. You can reach them on 1300 020 224 or support@azurehealth.com.au.
